Remifentanil - Economic Feasibility for Routine PracticeArticles

We sought to compare the financial expenditures associated with combined anesthesia wit h remifentanil to financial expenditures associated withroutine anesthesia. The difference was 75 Czech crowns/hour in favor of routine anesthesia. However, better hemodynamic stability, lower incidenceof complications and better postoperative comfort of a patient led us to the introduction of remifentanil to routine anesthesiologic practice even whenfinancial expenditures associated with this type of anesthesia have risen mildly.
