Editory a recenzenty však v budoucnu mohou čekat ještě větší výzvy. S rozvojem umělé inteligence (artificial intelligence – AI) lze vytvořit práce, které jsou zcela vymyšlené včetně dat, grafů a falešných odkazů na neexistující literaturu, leč formálně perfektně odpovídající požadavkům redakce. M. N. Krammer z Vanderbilt University Medical Center popsal, jak s pomocí ChatGPT vytvořil článek o využití bronchoskopie v diagnostice karcinomu plic a zaslal ho do 12 redakcí méně známých či predátorských časopisů [49]. V šesti byl článek ihned přijat, ze sedmé vzešel jen požadavek na formální úpravu textu před přijetím. Podobný pokus provedli i Elali et al. se zasláním abstraktů stvořených AI [50]. Řešením je pouze další použití umělé inteligence k odhalování rukopisů jinou umělou inteligencí vytvořených. Toto varování je zde uvedeno jako memento, že je třeba pečlivě vážit všechny informace, kterých je v našem oboru obrovské množství a z nejrůznějších zdrojů.
